Defining Patient Partnership in Research

The CERTAIN Patient Advisory Network aims to include both patients and researchers in order to improve research practices through meaningful active engagement and collaboration. In this video, patient partners discuss what involvement in research is, what it means to them, and what role patients play in research. They also explain how research partnership is different from participation in studies and how it allows patients to be more actively engaged in the research process. This video can be used as a tool to introduce the role of patient partner to patients or researchers new to patient involvement in research.
