Summary: 

Building Research Integrity and Capacity (BRIC) is an educational program for community members and research support staff who are involved in research yet have little to no formal academic research training. It is designed to increase understanding about the scientific research process and the importance of conducting research with integrity.

BRIC has been used to train community health professionals including Promotores de Salud (Promotores)/Community Health Workers(CHWs) about their roles and responsibilities when assisting with the design, implementation and reporting of research. The BRIC program is available in both English and Spanish.

We learned about this work through our work on INSPIRE. Previously we used CITI training for everyone- researchers and stakeholders alike. We learned that it was pretty overwhelming for people outside of the research community. Feedback on this resource from our patient partners has been positive and it is also available in both English and Spanish.
